After school and vacation care

The City of Stirling provides after school and vacation care for children in pre-primary through to 15 ½ year olds.  Find out more about the service, including centre locations, fees, and how to apply.

 
 

About the after school and vacation care service

The City of Stirling provides a range of quality outside school hours care services for children, offering an exciting, rewarding and fun way to spend time after school and during the school holidays.  The services are in operation at four (4) locations across the City of Stirling: Balga, Hamersley, Inglewood and Scarborough.
 
Each centre provides a variety of fun and engaging activities within a safe and caring environment, the services are accredited with the National Childcare Accreditation Council and are supervised by trained and experienced staff.
 

Vacation Care - On the Bus Program: 11-15½ year olds

  • The On the Bus Program provides an award winning mobile service that operates from the Balga, Hamersley and Scarborough centres
  • On the Bus operates during the school holidays from 8:30am - 5:30pm, offering a program of exciting day trips for older children
  • Past programs have included activities such as rollerblading, water sports, sand boarding, movies, sporting activities, rock climbing, camel riding and visits to Moore River.

 

Vacation Care: Pre-primary to Year 7

 
Vacation care services operate from centres in Balga, Hamersley and Scarborough Centres:
  • This service caters for primary school aged children (pre-primary to year 7)
  • Vacation care operates during the school holidays from 8:00am - 6:00pm (excluding public holidays)
  • Vacation programs include day excursions in addition to a variety of craft, leisure and other fun activities.
 

After School Care: Pre-primary to Year 7

 
  • After school care services operate at centres in Balga, Hamersley, Inglewood and Scarborough
  • Transport is provided from various schools within the area to take the children to after school care
  • After school care centres are open from the hours of 3:00pm - 6:00pm every school day
  • Early school closings are catered for and when numbers permit the centre is open on Pupil Free Days
  • Activities include craft, sport, games, cooking, leisure or excursions focused on creating fun for the children in a safe environment.

 

Fees

Fees will depend on the amount of Child Care Benefit (CCB) you are eligible to receive. To determine eligibility, families must register with their nearest Family Assistance Office  on 136 150.

Child referred from an external agency

A child referred from an external agency will not be accepted into after school care or vacation care until this form has been submitted to and assessed by the City of Stirling.
 
The purpose of this form is to provide staff with additional information that may assist us in planning and caring for your child while they are attending our program.
