The City of Stirling’s Seasonal Weed Control Program will commence around 22 April 2013 (weather permitting) and is expected to be completed by 1 June 2013. Areas to be treated include road kerbs, footpaths, traffic islands and public access ways.
The program will commence in the suburbs to the east of Wanneroo Road including Inglewood, Mount Lawley, Menora, Coolbinia, Dianella, Yokine, Nollamara, Westminster, Mirrabooka and Balga.
Proceed through the suburbs located between Wanneroo Road and the Freeway, including Hamersley, Balcatta, Stirling, Tuart Hill and Joondanna.
Finally, complete the area to the west of the Freeway, including Glendalough, Osborne Park, Churchlands, Wembley Downs, Woodlands, Scarborough, Doubleview, Innaloo, Gwelup, Karrinyup, Trigg, North Beach, Watermans Bay and Carine.
Weed Control activities will be as follows:
· General weed control utilising Glyphosate (Roundup) on kerb lines, traffic islands, public access ways and footpaths;
· All weed spraying vehicles will be clearly designated with advisory signs "Slow Moving Vehicle" and "Spraying in Progress", displaying the Contractor’s name; and
· Spraying will not be undertaken in wet or windy conditions and appropriate shrouding of the spray nozzles will be provided to minimise spray drift.
Residents who wish to exempt their property from spraying can have their name and property address recorded on the non-spraying list by contacting the City.
