Fire safety

Land owners and occupiers in the City of Stirling should ensure that they comply with firebreak and burning regulations during the summer, and conduct regular checks of their property for fire risks.

Land owners and occupiers in the City of Stirling are required to install firebreaks around combustible materials on their property from 30 November each year and must maintain them up to an including 31 March.

Firebreaks are necessary to:
  • Help prevent the spread of fire
  • Allow easy access for emergency vehicles
  • Provide a break from which back burning can take place.
Download the Fire prevention and firebreak requirements brochure for information on:
  • Fire prevention checklist
  • Installing firebreaks
  • Burning restrictions
  • Penalties.
