Coastal Aquatic Facility

The City of Stirling is currently working on a proposal to develop a public integrated recreation facility on the Hamersley Public Golf Course site, Karrinyup. The proposal would include aquatic and golf facilities and associated recreational and community infrastructure fitting a modern recreation venue.
 

Community Parks Development Program

The City of Stirling encourages the use of parks and reserves for social, physical and environmental health, and continually redevelops our parks to ensure conducive and enjoyable open spaces are available for the community. Find out more about the program.
 

Edith Cowan University Churchlands campus redevelopment

The City of Stirling has released the former Edith Cowan University campus in Churchlands for private redevelopment, and subdivision is now in the final stages. Find out about the new development.

Glendalough station precinct study

A study was conducted in 1999 to improve the Glendalough railway station precinct in order to promote public transport and develop the area. The study was reviewed again in 2005, with additional community consultation taking place after. Find out more about the study.
 

Housing strategy

The City of Stirling has adopted a local housing strategy for the next 5 years to guide future provision of housing, assess the role of supporting services and inform residential density reviews, focusing on 7 issues. Find out more about the housing strategy.
 

Local centre upgrades

The City of Stirling aims to improve the ability of local centres to provide accessible services and employment through our Local Centres Urban Design Improvement Program and funding for the Small Business Centre Stirling. Find out more about the upgrades.
 

Mirrabooka Regional Centre

Mount Lawley streetscape improvement project

The City of Stirling has initiated the Mount Lawley streetscape improvement project to enhance the local identity and heritage value of the commercial precinct along Beaufort Street, between Walcott Street and Queens Crescent. Find out more about the improvements.
 

Municipal Inventory review

The City of Stirling is reviewing its Municipal Inventory and Heritage List to clarify the role of the two lists of heritage properties, establish clear criteria, objectives and processes, and allow for community involvement. Find out more about the review.
 

Parks capital works

Every year, the City of Stirling has a budget of more than 4 million dollars for improvement and maintenance works in parks and reserves. Members of the public are invited to submit requests in writing. Find out more about parks capital works.

Regional open space master plans

The City of Stirling is committed to the good management of our regional open spaces, and has drawn up master plans to manage the reserves. Several plans have already been approved, and the Dianella plan is in draft stage and will go out for community consultation later. Find out more about the plans.
 

Rights of way management strategy

The City of Stirling’s Rights of Way Management Strategy sets out a framework for the management of rights-of-way and dedicated lanes. Of the 5 categories, the first 3 categories will undergo improvement works, and the others will be closed. Find out more about the project.
 

Scarborough Beach Urban Design Master Plan

The Scarborough Beach Urban Design Master Plan was implemented partially in 2005 and reviewed in 2008 as part of the Scarborough Environs Area Strategy to foster the area’s traditions, natural attractions and unique lifestyle.
 

Scarborough Environs Area Strategy

The Scarborough Environs Area Strategy aims to enhance Scarborough's role as the heart of the Sunset Coast, and will be implemented using the Scarborough Beach Urban Design Master Plan, and 2 District Planning Scheme amendments. Find out more about the Strategy.
 

Stirling City Centre redevelopment

The City of Stirling, in partnership with the Stirling City Centre Alliance, aims to transform the Stirling City Centre into an integrated and modern, mixed-use, and transit-oriented centre around the Stirling train station. Find out more about the redevelopment project.

Transport strategy

The City of Stirling’s Integrated Transport Strategy focuses on land use and transport integration, pedestrian amenities, cycling, public transport, freight, parking and demand management. An implementation plan is being developed for it. Find out more about the transport strategy.
 

Underground power project

The State Underground Power Program (SUPP) works in Coolbinia is scheduled to take place from July 2013 to July 2014, with 50% of costs subsidised by the State Government and the remaining 50% to be recovered from the property owners who benefit from the project.
