The City of Stirling is reviewing its Municipal Inventory and Heritage List to clarify the role of the two lists of heritage properties, establish clear criteria, objectives and processes, and allow for community involvement. Find out more about the review.
The City of Stirling is currently reviewing its Municipal Inventory (MI) and Heritage List, as required under the Heritage of Western Australia Act 1990.
The purpose of the review is to:
• Reinforce the role of the Heritage List to promote preservation of properties, in contrast to the MI, which is to note places of significance
• Refine the list of locations already identified on the List, MI and heritage database
• Establish a more robust Heritage List—representing key buildings and places that the City wishes to preserve
• Establish a logical categorisation for places of heritage significance, including discrete groupings or 'precincts', and objective criteria for listing a property on the
Heritage List or the MI
• Establish clear objectives and processes for listed places
• Allow for community input in the compilation of both lists.
