​​​​​The Stirling Community Centres - Tuart Hill is located on the picturesque Grenville Reserve and was opened to the public in November 2013. It is a multipurpose facility that caters for community and corporate groups on the upper level, whilst on the lower level the facility houses change rooms and club rooms to cater for sporting groups that hire the reserve. The upper level boasts five areas for hire, with the spaces having the ability to host both larger functions as well as smaller meetings and activities. This page features general information about the centre and its regular hirers, specific details about the rooms available for hire including fees and charges, as well as instructions for making a booking and contact details for enquiries.

Location and parking

The Stirling Community Centres - Tuart Hill is located on Grenville Reserve, which is bordered by Cape Street, French Street, Hector Street and Stoneham Street. Access to the car park is from Stoneham Street, near the roundabout with Cape Street. There are 40 car parking bays as well as two accessible bays available for patrons of the centre, though these may also be utilised by members of the public attending the reserve and childcare centre.

Rooms available for hire

Stirling Community Centres - Tuart Hill has five rooms that are available for hire on a casual ('one-off') or regular ('on-going') basis. The rooms are listed below along with their main features. For fees and charges, please refer to the following section.

Social room

  • 140m2 in size holding up to 140 people standing or up to 100 people seated
  • Wood-look vinyl flooring with tiles near kitchen/bar servery windows
  • Reverse cycle air-conditioning for cooling and heating
  • 150 chairs, 13 rectangular trestle tables and 15 round trestle tables
  • Speakers in the ceiling with audio input (i.e. iPod)
  • Access to commercial kitchen (see features below)
  • Access to balcony overlooking Grenville Reserve

Meeting room 1

  • 50m2 in size holding up to 50 people standing or up to 35 people seated
  • Wood-look vinyl flooring
  • Reverse cycle air-conditioning for cooling and heating
  • Audio visual equipment including projector, automated screen, speakers in the ceiling, Blu-ray DVD player
  • 30 chairs and four rectangular trestle tables
  • In-room kitchenette featuring sink, instantaneous boiling and chilled filtered water taps, bar fridge
  • Access to balcony overlooking Grenville Reserve

Function space

The function space is the combination of the social area and meeting room 1, which are separated by an acoustic (partitioned) wall. The function space includes all the features of both rooms (see above) just with a total floor space of 190m2 holding up to 190 people standing or up to 140 people seated.

  • Stainless steel benchtops and appliances
  • Gas oven, stove, griddle, deep fryer
  • Bain Marie, heat lamp, microwave, instantaneous hot water wall urn
  • Dry storeroom, cool room with glass doors and drink racks
  • Three under bench bar fridges
  • Dual door freestanding freezer
  • Dishwasher and glass washer
  • Caterers' access through service yard

Please be aware that facility hire jurisdiction does not extend outside the boundaries of the hired area. Fees and Charges

The following fees and charges are for room hire at the Stirling Community Centres - Tuart Hill. The City of Stirling's Council endorses the fees on 1 July each year and they are applicable until 30 June. The fees listed reflect the standard rate of hire; community rates of hire are available on request, however, only not-for-profit organisations verified by the City are eligible for the community rates. A bond, also known as a security deposit, is charged against all rentals.

How to make a booking

To hire the Stirling Community Centres - Tuart Hill an application form must completed and submitted to the office, which initiates the booking process.  Before submitting an application form, the below instructions must be accepted/undertaken.

  1. There must be at least 15 business days (three weeks) until the first booking date.
  2. The Terms and Conditions of Hire must be read and understood.
  3. The suitability^ and availability of the centre must be checked with the office (contact details listed under Administration and general enquiries).​

After the above instructions have been completed, a C​asual (for 'one-off' bookings) or a Regular (for 'on-going' bookings) hire application form can be downloaded and filled out. The application form and any supporting documentation, such as a Certificate of Incorporation for not-for-profit organisations, can then be submitted to the office (contact details listed under Administration and general enquiries). If approved, an officer will confirm via email or telephone, at which time a $50.00 non-refundable deposit will become due.  Payment of the deposit will allow the application form to be processed and documents confirming the successful booking will be emailed by close of business the same day.

Please be aware that submission of an application form does not​​, in any way, guarantee or confirm the booking. The booking process can take up to five business days from receipt of the application form.

^Please note that this facility is not suitable for 18th/21st birthday parties, bucks or hens nights.​
