Role of the Committee
The Local Emergency Management Committee (LEMC) was established by the local government to overview, plan and test the local community emergency management arrangements.
The LEMC also facilitates training and exercises for emergency management.
Committee members
The Committee is composed of representatives from agencies, organisations and community groups with expertise relevant to the identified community hazards and risks and emergency management arrangements.
Groups represented in the Local Emergency Management Committee include:
• Fire and Emergency Services Authority WA (FESA)
• St John Ambulance WA
• City of Stirling Council
• WA Police
• Health Service
• Stirling State Emergency Unit
• Department of Community Development.
